Blog Series: Smarter Fitness, Real Life Edition – Entry 5
📅 May through June 17th, 2025
The past six weeks brought a noticeable shift. May closed with mounting work stress, unpredictable travel, and the usual chaos of balancing family and deadlines. I'm certainly struggling with consistency. Using AI as a tool to evaluate options and concepts has been invaluable.
June began with a hard reset; one I had planned but still approached with caution.
The Fast That Kicked Things Off
Starting the night of June 1, I began a full fast. No food. Just water, black coffee, and vitamin-enhanced hydration drinks. I kept it going until June 4 at noon, breaking the fast in time to handle a critical work obligation with energy and focus. The result? Surprisingly smooth. My mind felt sharp, cravings subsided, and I tapped into that deep fat-burning rhythm I had been trying to reach for months.
Why did I try full-force fasting? I wanted the body to work it's own healing magic. Watch this YouTube Video my neighbor shared with me.
Since then, I’ve maintained a daily intermittent fasting routine from 7pm until 12pm. It hasn’t felt restrictive. It’s routine now. That rhythm, fasting through the night and morning, has stabilized my energy, cleared my head, and given my body a predictable window to burn fat and reset.
Yes, I'm hungry, but I know the reprieve will come soon. I also hydrate well. Lunches are bright and colorful with salads, healthy proteins, etc. It's been wonderful.
Allergy Treatment and Recovery
June 2 marked the beginning of my allergy serum drops. I’m taking three drops from vial A daily right now (it's a progressive series that started with one drop a day). I've felt the fatigue of my immune system doing its thing and the fasting too.
It’s not magic, but paired with cleaner eating and consistent hydration, I’ve noticed fewer crashes and better sleep. That’s a win.
Travel, Family, and Stitch
Life didn’t pause during all this. There were still family responsibilities, work curveballs, and a few travel days that tested my willpower. The new Stitch movie turned out to be a much-needed bright spot, it was funny, heartfelt, and the perfect break. And even through the busiest days, I kept fasting. I did enjoy a chocolate treat (no popcorn!). That's a cavern that's easy to mindlessly consume hundreds (even thousands) of calories in one sitting.
The Results So Far:
Start Weight: 195 lbs
Current Weight: 184 lbs
Change: Down 11 pounds
Fasting Window: 7pm to 12pm daily (no exceptions so far)
Hydration: Flavored waters, black coffee, and lots of plain water
Energy Levels: More consistent, less mental fog
Mood: Calmer, even during stressful work days
Food: Simple, clean and flavorful (salads, grilled protein, veggies, minimal carbs, minimal processed foods)

The AI tools I’ve been using to track, plan, and stay consistent remain part of the system, but the real shift has come from choosing to make it non-negotiable. Truly, the best use I've found for me is just asking the nagging question. The answers are helpful and, when I need the support, comforting.
Eat well. Drink water. Fast daily. Keep showing up.
